B.Ed stands for an undergraduate academic course known as Bachelor of Education. Earlier it was known as Bachelor of Training (BT). It is a course offered for those who are interested in pursuing career in teaching and related fields. It is a skill based training program which imparts knowledge to students regarding all aspects of classroom teaching.
Bachelor of Education or B. Ed. is an undergraduate program of 2-year duration. The 2-year program is generally divided into four semesters and structured in a way that not only involves classroom based teaching, but also practical training and internships. Any student, who wishes to make a career in the field of teaching, has to undergo the process of learning all the necessary aspects of education. One must pursue the course in order to be eligible for teaching at high school level. This course demands students to be vocal and fluent in their speech. They must also be good at problem-solving since teaching at high school level is a very challenging job.
The core courses provide a conceptual and contextual understanding of the topics while the pedagogy courses deal with the aspects essential for a teacher. B.Ed course also consisted of various project based courses and assignments which will enable an individual to become a competent and effective teacher.
